First of all, I am an engineering graduate currently working on an American Semiconductor company. I work four days a week. But then, currently I am looking for an additional income. I believe on my three days off, it will be very advantageous to use this to learn MT and be a work at home medical transcriptionist. Semiconductor industry has been on an up and down basis while medical field has been constantly stable for decades. Being an MT, my worries on job security will be lessening. Currently, my father was diagnosed with skin cancer and my mother just had a goiter. Once a week, I am always at the hospital assisting my parent’s medical laboratories, dealing with doctors and reading their diagnostic analysis etc. I had an experience on a hospital wherein their medical records for patients were lost and unfortunately they had no duplicate. What they did was interview again my father on what previous medicines, laboratories and previous operation he had in order to have again a new medical record.

I also have a cousin who is currently studying as a nurse and from time to time I had a chance to browse her books, studying what the doctors had explained to my father. From this, I became familiar already with some medical terms. I get frustrated sometimes on why I didn’t take up a medical field instead. If I could have been a doctor, I should have been the one taking care of my parents. From my experiences, this has motivated me to get to MT industry. My friend is currently working on an online medical transcriptionist job and he said it pays well depending on the quality of your report. Well, I thought why not go on a MT job since I am also making failure analysis reports from my job. Quality reports from my job is very important and I believe I will be able to apply this also on being an MT. Getting the medical terms right that will be used for the report will only be my challenge. I believe with the training I will be getting from Future MT accompanied with my experience on making failure analysis reports from my current job, I will succeed on being a great MT. I wanted to know everything and anything about this field. Let us face the fact that all people will need to see a doctor someday. SN:0MA9N2ESY

Being an MT, I will somehow be able to help sick people and doctor through documentation of patient’s file through medical records. I plan to do an online job after getting a course. Online job is very helpful since you control your own time. Since study shows, MT will be vastly increasing for the next few years. I would like to be one of those people who will be pioneering MT here in Philippines. I believe in this field I will be able to learn a lot and will give me a break for an additional online job income.
